Elysian Aircraft Named Best Business in North Holland

Haarlem, May 27, 2026

Elysian Aircraft has been named the winner of the “De Belofte” (The Promise) category at the 19th edition of the Ondernemingsverkiezing Noord-Holland 2026 (North Holland Entrepreneurship Awards), earning the title of Best Business.

The award recognises companies for entrepreneurship, innovation, vision and growth potential. Elysian was selected for its mission to make large-scale battery-electric aviation possible through the development of the E9X, a 90-seat battery-electric aircraft designed for routes of up to 1,000 kilometres.

The award was presented during the final ceremony at PHIL Haarlem, where companies from across North Holland gathered to celebrate entrepreneurship and innovation.

Accepting the award, Martijn Breen, CFO of Elysian Aircraft, reflected on the region’s aviation heritage: “One hundred and fifteen years after Anthony Fokker first flew above Haarlem, aviation history can once again be written in North Holland. We thank everyone who continues to support us as we work to make electric aviation possible.”

Commenting on the award, Daniel Rosen Jacobson, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Elysian Aircraft, said: “Electric aviation is often seen as something for the distant future. We believe it can be much closer. This award recognises the work behind that belief and the opportunity ahead of us. We are proud to be building the future of aviation here in North Holland.”

Based in Hoofddorp, Elysian is developing the E9X and thecore technologies required to enable battery-electric aviation at scale. The company is advancing its technology validation program and recently completed the first flights of its Scaled Flight Demonstrator.
